The animal house facility of ISF College of Pharmacy, Moga, Punjab is registered with the Committee for the Purpose of Control and Supervision of Experiments on Animals (CPCSEA), Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climatic Change, Government of India for the education and breeding of small laboratory animals since 2017. The cross-contamination in a double-story building of the animal house facility is controlled using a two-way corridor system. One floor of the building is dedicated to the housing, breeding, and quarantine of small laboratory animals like mice, rats, rabbits, and guinea pigs with each animal species being housed in a separate room. Each room is ventilated and the environment is kept under control with temperature (23±3°C), relative humidity (60±10 %), 12:12 h light and dark cycle as per CPCSEA guidelines. The second floor of animal house facility is meant for conducting the experiments on animals. Veterinary care is provided by full time veterinarian. Animal house attendant takes care of regular cleaning and disinfection of animal rooms, corridors, storage spaces and other areas. The cages, water bottles and bedding are sterilized on regular basis. Incinerator is used for waste disposal including animal carcass. The MoU is signed with Medicare Biomedical Safety for disposal of biomedical waste. GLP principles are adopted as standard operating procedures for routine chores. ISF College of Pharmacy has provided well dimension animal house as per CPCSEA guidelines for research and breeding purpose. College is in receipt of 5 years CPCSEA registration. Accordingly, CPCSEA  has established IAEC committee which meet biannually for inspection.

* To promote simulation models, meta-analysis and in-vitro experimentation.

* To promote up gradation of procedure and skill enhancement & regular training for experimenter.

* To ensure that experiments on larger animals are avoided when it is possible to achieve the same results by experiments upon smaller animals.

* To ensure that required records are maintained with respect to experiments performed on animals.

* To ensure that animals intended for the performance of experiments are properly cared before and after experiments.
